2024 Spiritual Awakening
My spiritual awakening in 2024 has become the most impactful year of my life. As we all through awakenings throughout life, some are more intense than others. The awakenings happen after profound events that cause massive upheaval in our life path, like losing a loved one, health complications, behavioral realizations, job changes, car accidents, strong positive experiences, and so much more.
The effect on our frequency and vibration has us stop and start processing who we are and what to do with our life. Sometimes the event resets us onto a new path that better serves our purpose. And other times, we fall off that new path and revert back into old patterns only to need another awakening event to realign ourselves with an authentic approach to life.
Remaining self aware and focused during life’s trials is what helps us stay on the path of awakening. Spiritual awakenings aren’t as devastating when we maintain our composure and pay attention to what life is teaching us. We will start to see intense life changes as lessons and actively learn from them. The purpose of spiritual awakenings are to find and be who we truly are; humans who are inherently good and are one with all.
The pattern of suffering
What causes us to fall back into old patterns is ignoring the lessons of life changes and our behaviors. While spiritual awakenings open our eyes to the truth of where we are in life, a lot of people are avoiding that truth. It’s like not wanting to look into the mirror because what we would see is the truth of who we are and how we have been behaving. It is common for people to run away from the truth of themselves when they are not truly happy about who and where they are in life.
In many cases, running away from the self is what creates mental illness. Avoiding the truth causes more trauma to pile up and stay untreated. Over time, it becomes part of a person’s pattern to blame others and abuse to avoid having to take accountability for themselves. That also causes the abused to question their own selves and reality; a cycle that passes on to others.
The opposite of spiritual growth is suffering. The most prevalent example of the cycle of trauma is the passed down energy from parents to their children. As many parents in different cultures experience hardships from their own caretakers, they will in turn pass it down to their own children if they are still suffering and not self-aware. Then the children carry on and absorb their parents traumas, passing them onto the people in their life paths.
Mental health patterns
There are two sides to everything. The positive and the negative. Each side still having a purpose that leads to spiritual awakening. Our approach to life and our growth is the main catalyst that shapes our and purpose. Putting one’s needs before anyone else, arrogance, exploitation, envy are all traits associated with narcissism. On the other hand, tending to others’ needs too much can shift focus away from themselves. Both methods can essentially cause someone to avoid identifying their true needs and constantly finding other ways to calm their fear of facing themselves.
There are many terms that describe traumas and behaviors. Narcissism, avoidant, echoism, etc. Each one involving a way to dodge self-reflection in order to continue the pattern of “feeling normal” without doing the work. Culture has a large effect on growth because of religious beliefs or passed down traditional roles/standards. Religion can even prevent someone from using mental health services. They are taught that their faith will save them without having to adopt any proven mental health treatments.
Now more than ever, mental health has been in focus and trending thanks to more awakened people advocating for a better world. It takes strength and breaking through passed down beliefs to take a stand for our personal mental health. That can mean that we must disconnect from what no longer serves a healthy growth experience. Taking time away from places, people, family, jobs, media, and behaviors for an extended time while actively creating healthier patters is the most important step of transformation.
Replacing healthy practices instead of taking part in what brings us down is they key but it is not something everyone wants to do. When more of us follows a healthy pattern of self awareness, we pass that growth on to others. During a spiritual awakening, events and people can still pull us back into old patterns and that is why spiritual awakenings are not easy. We are fighting with and old life, an old reflection of ourselves that found comfort in the past patterns that we learned.
The middle of spiritual awakening
There is the initial shock/realization that triggers our spiritual awakening. And then there is the challenge of returning to the true self while still enduring life and people around you.
The first part is realizing that you don’t like where you are, who you have been, and what you’re doing. It’s like being backed into a corner. At that critical stage, many choose to avoid what they have to change and continue on the same pattern. In the middle of it, self-love helps us fight to improve and take the necessary steps to overcome our old life. That can mean moving away, releasing attachments to people, and diving into a positive approach to life.
Everything can change in the middle of an awakening and it takes time to get used to the change and keep practicing the new patterns. Even at this stage, one can fall back into old patterns by giving in to the validation that old patterns gave us.
In the middle of spiritual awakening, we become open to new ideas and a larger view of the world and its own patterns. We find Oneness with all. We realize that we are not alone; that we are all part of this world with every life. Suddenly, it dawns on us that if everyone knew this, the world would become a better place. We start to have compassion for ourselves, forgiveness, empathy, and love for everyone no matter where they are in life.
The path of spiritual awakening is of the self. We can feel compelled to pull others into what we are leaning while we are still in the middle of it. But we must remember that it is not our job to awaken others or convince them of what we are doing. We are to awaken ourselves to our true purpose.
The purpose of spiritual awakening
Spiritual awakening is meant to bring us back to ourselves. To remove the fears and traumas that caused us to create an inauthentic self. Ultimately, we are all going towards awakening in many different ways. To each, their own. By reaching your own awakening, you will start engaging with what you truly love about yourself and do the things you love to do.
It isn’t about trying to convince anyone else. Its about you realizing that you are love and love is what everything is made of. Just by doing what you love and being your true self, you’ll help inspire and awaken others without having to convince them. By your vibration alone, you’ll trigger people into looking into their own mirror and ask themselves if they are truly happy with life.
When you are at at high vibration doing what you love and enjoying who you are, you will trigger the people around you in different ways. Some will be inspired and some will react in difficult ways. And it’s just by watching you, feeling you, hearing you, etc. You don’t even have to directly interact with someone to trigger them.
This is why people on the spiritual awakening path experience opposition. When you are vibrating at such a high frequency, you affect those on different frequencies. Creating a song with positive words about life can anger a person who’s life is not going well. If you are smiling and dancing, it can trigger someone who can’t imagine themselves doing that. Criticism, insults, and slander are only a few reactions someone can have when they are unhappy with their lives. See them hear them, but never take it personally. It is their reaction, their karma, and it shows you that you are not where they are.
At the tail end of the spiritual awakening
A major awakening can feel like a lonely road. As your frequency changes, you lose things and people who no longer align with you. It can be devastating, but it is an essential part of letting go of attachments that we no longer benefit from. The path you have taken is the road less traveled. You may not experience many people on that path because it takes perseverance to walk alone for your own health. The other road is full of people following the same patterns. But that road goes in circles. People become comfortable with what us familiar to them and they like to know what to expect.
At some point you will find yourself paying attention to details and acknowledging that we are all trying to find our way in our own way. And so you let people be, you let go of what you used to want. Now you want and find that peace that everyone is looking for.
Once you find that peace physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually, there comes a time of rest. It’s okay to put life on hold in order to finally rest during peace. We are human and experiencing true peace is something our physical bodies are not used to after a life a of chaos. Sleeping more than usual is normal. Feeling withdrawn from society, putting projects on hold, arranging your space are all normal.
We will need to rest and get used to ourselves and the peaceful times. We start protecting but not over protecting ourselves. We start eating better, doing healthy activities, being productive, and waking up each morning excited for the day. No matter how simple your routine is, this rest is necessary. You are catching your breath after years of running.
2024 has been a very different year and when oppositions threatens our health and path, it is met with a higher level of positive energy. Don’t let the world and its toxic patterns push you out of your growth. We are in this together.
Embrace the path of spiritual awakening. We are all in this together. By actually doing what you always wanted to to and being who you always wanted to be.
Isn’t that something? To help change the world, all you had to do was exactly what you always dreamed of doing. Whether it is creating music, writing, making art, enjoying nature, being an advocate, fun activities etc. Your vibration alone adds to the planet’s growth.
You are not alone in your path, no matter how lonely it may seem. We are out there doing the same in our own way. Reach out when you need help from the people you trust the most. Not many take the road you’re on, but you will run into others. When you do, say hello to yourself and elevate each other. Everything is one. All connected.
Take care, soul.
